چکیده

Introduction: Main source of nutrition to long bone during growth and ossification is nutrient artery. Nutrient canal opens as foramen on the surface shaft which conducts artery peripheral nerves bones. provides more than 60-70% blood supply bone, 30- 40% through periosteal, metaphyseal epiphyseal vessels. Aim: To determine number foramina, its position shaft, size direction foramina either towards proximal end or distal find out foraminal index from foramina. Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed in 177 dry bones (60 humerus, 60 radius, 57 ulna) upper limb, available at Anatomy Department, GMERS Medical College Himmatnagar, September 2021. All were observed for number, Size measured by needles different size. Mean Foraminal calculated each limb using Epi Info™ windows, CDC, Atlanta, version 7.2. Results: Majority had single all directed elbow joint. flexor surfaces except one (radius). situated middle 3rd shaft. range 22 28 gauge needle. Conclusion: Information will be useful many orthopedic surgeries like microvascular grafting plastic reconstructive surgeries. During fracture repair, graft muscle care should taken, not damage these vessels keep intact bone.
